Don't Drink and Drive

>> Tuesday, March 17, 2009

I was watching the news last night and saw a really tragic story. Apparently some stupid drunk 47 year old lady decided it was OK to drink and drive and lost control of her van going about 80 mph in a 45 mph zone, crossed the medium and hit a car with 4 teenagers inside killing all of them. What the hell is wrong with people who think it's OK to drive drunk? Every time someone drives drunk they risk killing someone, yet people continue to do it. Any idiot who drives drunk even once should lose there license for good. This lady will most likely spend the rest of her life in jail for murdering 4 young kids who had their whole life in front of them and rightfully so. To bad she was too stupid to know not to drink and drive. To see the complete story go to this link... http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090317/METRO/903170407

it's sad that this was her second dui.
she said she went off the wagon and had this accident because of some personal trauma.

now everyone has trauma because of it.
I saw it on tv and it really saddened me.
that area of gratiot seems to have alot of
traffic problems. I notice it all the time.

I am praying for the families, all of them.

Part of the problem with your rhetorical question of why people think it's okay to drink and then drive is that once they've started drinking, they don't THINK. At all. I've got a "drinker" in my family, multiple DUIs, who fortunately no longer has a license or a vehicle. I've watched him drink for decades, and he NEVER realizes when he's drunk. He thinks he's perfectly normal (and that he's "fooling" all the people around him.

I am so, so sorry for the families of the teens who were killed. That woman SHOULD spend the rest of her life in jail. Her "personal trauma" is no damn excuse!

I feel sorry for those 4 teenagers. It's right for that woman to spend the rest of her life in jail.

It is very unfortunate that the law is not harsher against drunken motorists.
