Comment on a conservative's blog

>> Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Recently I left a negative comment on a conservative jerk's blog that I won't name for fear I might give him more publicity than he deserves. Boy was that a mistake! Not only did I get pummeled with follow up comments from the site's owner criticising my grammar and spelling, but also his wife joined in on slandering me as well. Then all his devoted followers(who are obviously all Republicans) started doing the same. I thought that by leaving a negative comment about my displeasure with his most recent post, I would possibly make him realize how childish he is by posting the picture that he had there. I was wrong, not only is he childish, but so is all of his Republican friends as well. Here is a message to all Republicans. Obama is your president, get over it. You lost and the Democrats won. Stop acting like little children who lost a ball game and then taking your ball and going home. Its time for all Americans to stand together and get this country back to the way it was before Bush was president. Stop trying to hinder every step the Democrats take in trying to fix a broken economy that was given to us by the Bush administration. Of course I know telling this to Republicans is like talking to a wall. They will never admit they were wrong or made mistakes because that would mean they have to be honest, one thing most Republicans have trouble with. One more thing , my spelling, punctuation and grammar might not always be perfect, but at least I get my point across. Every time a Republican doesn't like what you say, instead of arguing the point, they would rather point out the mistakes in grammar and spelling to make you look bad. So what! if I said "your" when I should have said "you're". They know what I'm trying to say. From now on, when I have something negative to say about a conservative's post, I will do it here on my blog where I can control the content. Democrats rule, long live the Democrats!

Oh my gosh they are childish for pointing out those small stuff. Who cares if your punctuation, grammar or spelling is wrong as long as people can understand it what the heck! What do they do, spell check everyone's comments if they are spelled correctly or not? That is just pathetic. I'm not an american citizen yet but in any place when your country is not doing so good its time to stand together and let of the past and build something new.

Republicans Are A Lost Cause

Republicans have no interest in contributing anything positive to America's success. They only want to attack, slash and burn, and tear down the Obama Administration, so they can regain power in 2010. Hold out no hope for the GOP. Expect nothing constructive from Republicans over the next two years. The best approach is to try to defeat as many Republicans as possible in 2010, so the USA can continue moving forward in the positive direction where President Obama now has the country heading.

Hi Bob, just read your post. Want you to know not all republicans think that way. Some of us did vote for Obama. I know some die heart rep. followers are in denial about the Bush years. They are set in their ways and can't see the Future. Only thing they see is the Past. Sometimes we tend to hang on to the past, dreaming it was better. I am supporting the President of this Wonderful Free Country. I might not agree with everything he has planned. However he is our leader now and we all should move forward in time. Try not to think bad of all Republicans- It will take time for the republicans to accept the change. There is still hope!!

Hi Bob...

Try talking to a die hard Democrat who follows the Democratic party no matter what ... It's just like telling what you experience when you talk to a die-hard Republican, both are bullheaded and opinionated and won't listen to anything.

Personally I'm for free thinking and try to ignore both that follow a party just because of the party.

Democrats and Republicans would help this country a lot more if they'd get over what party they are a member of and concentrate on helping people instead!!!

Bob April 15, 2009 at 5:58 PM

Although Democrats can be just as bullheaded and opinionated as Republicans, there is a couple of key differences that I would like to point out. First of all Democrats never lie or stretch the truth to make the Republicans look bad as do the Republicans on the far right. Look at the lies Bush and Cheney made about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and the other lie about there being terrorist in Iraq when Saddam Hussein was still in power. Of course there are terrorists there now. Republicans lied about Obama being a Muslim, he is a Christian. Republicans stretch the truth about Democrats raising our national Debt by increasing spending. The Obama administration inherited a $2.5 trillion deficit from the Bush administration. The increase in spending by the current Obama administration is to stimulate the economy that was already in a downward spiral when Bush left office. Secondly Democrats have always tried to help the people like the middle class and the poor. The only people Republicans help are the rich. The Democrats are concentrating on helping the people and the Republicans are concentrating on stopping the Democrats with there lies. Independent Liberals need to get off the fence and choose a party to make a difference. Support the Democrats if you want to help the people.

Okay, my dear Bob, I'm right with you on that one. For I am sure that all that was said about Senator McCain and Governor Palin during the election and afterward was completely accurate.

I have to agree with what alot are saying.. The REPUBLICANS are just like FOX NEWS, they like to FIX the news to fit their needs and you know what I really dont see anything good coming out of them ever...

I mean they ran this country into the ground and now, that they have done that they wont admit to their wrongs, and WILL NEVER EVER admit that Bush screwed this country in the butt without Lube.

And now that they're not in the lime light anymore, they are having all these TEA BAGGING PARTIES to show their Ass's and to get back into the light and be like LOOK AT ME IM A LITTLE KID! PAY ATTENTION TO ME ! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!

that's right dear Fishhawk, Everything Obama and Biden said about McCain and Palin was exactly correct. I'm so glad you're right with me on that.

The Team April 16, 2009 at 2:40 PM

Hi Bob, is it true that the Republicans in Washington want to kill Obama's new dog? What has the dog done to them?

Bob April 16, 2009 at 3:52 PM

To The Team- I haven't heard that story before but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.

Nunzia Rider April 16, 2009 at 4:17 PM

Bo the Portuguese water dog is actually a Democratic plot to destroy the traditional American family. Seeing the Obamas welcome Bo into their family will spur millions of American children to ask their parents for dogs just like Sasha and Malia have. And then, when all the Manchurian pups are in place ... well, you know.

Bwwwhahahahahhaah

Staci April 16, 2009 at 4:24 PM

I've seen people do that kind of thing on non-political blogs and TV-related fan forums as well. It's like they disagree with you but they can't articulate their views so they choose to go the grade-school route and attack nitpicky things in your comment like grammar instead. Don't let them get to you. You know that you had a point, and if they can't see past your/you're, then it's their loss.

Bob April 16, 2009 at 4:44 PM

to The News Writer, that's funny. Careful of the stories you tell, the right wing might believe you.

Tina April 17, 2009 at 9:02 AM

What comes to mind is, "Wow!" Even posting about this could be construed as childish. The high road would have been to realize that maybe the person is a little out there and leave well enough alone. Be the bigger person.

It is completely naive to think that there is any one person, let alone a group of people, that are capable of being truthful all of the time. It is completely inaccurate to group any number of people together under any label and conclude that they all believe the same thing.

This rant doesn't do much good for the face of Democrats either. It makes a very bad impression and kind of puts you in the same boat as the Republican you are frustrated with.

One good thing about being American, at least for now, is that we are all entitled to our own opinion. We are even allowed to share that opinion. However, we cannot expect that everyone will agree with us. That does not make one person right and the other wrong. What may be right for one person may not be right for another.

Generally speaking, politics and news are always slanted in one direction or another. It can be quite safely said that most of what we hear is not completely true. One must always consider the source. Knowing exactly what is truth in this day and age would take a lot of research on the part of the truth seeker.

It is best not to jump to conclusions in politics. Period.

I must say, I'm come at this from a slightly different point of view. First, I'm perhaps a bit further to the left. Initially, even though I met Obama back in 2004, I did not support his bid. I felt he was too conservative. I still wish we had a more liberal president, but I'm very impressed with President Obama nonetheless.

Part of my liberalism includes standing up for everyone. I am not a fan of seeing political opponents characterized as 'jerks'. I don't believe that helps any of us.

Instead, we need to be seeking common ground, where ever we can. While there are some conservative Republicans that take a scorched earth approach, there are many that really do love our common country and not just the efforts to hold onto power for their friends.

How do we work with these Republicans so that whomever is in the White House is as successful as possible?

Harrison April 17, 2009 at 10:47 AM

Calling someone an "A hole" usually doesn't result in a productive discussion, does it?

Bob April 17, 2009 at 2:04 PM

Harrison- your right, and posting a picture of Obama turned green with horns doesn't get much productive discussion from anyone who likes Obama either.

Bob April 17, 2009 at 2:14 PM

Orient-lodge.com-The Republicans don't want to work with the democrats. The proof of that is in the votes in the house and senate that are mostly divided between party lines, like when the Democrats wanted to pass the spending bill to stimulate the economy, the Republicans were against all the spending, but there is no other way to stimulate the economy other then with a huge spending bill. Every effort the Democrats make in trying to turn this economy around is fought by the Republicans because they want the Democrats to fail so they can return power in 2012.

Bob April 17, 2009 at 2:19 PM

Tina, watch Fox News, then tell me the Democrats are equally guilty in spreading half truths and lies. Is there a News network that is totally controlled by the left? Fox is controlled by the right and is biased on the republicans side,

Harrison April 17, 2009 at 2:23 PM

Bob, you can't see the difference between you calling the person who runs their website an "A hole" versus not liking a photo he used?

Whatever happened to "if you don't like it don't comment on it" or, at least, refrain from slurring somebody? I think that's what really set things off.

Bob April 17, 2009 at 2:57 PM

I didn't say there wasn't a difference. Of course what I did was definitely worse and as I said, I regret calling him that now. But that was a result of the history we have with one of my post where he tried to belittle me. Still there is no excuse, and I'm sure Its not going to happen again. Enough said on that topic.

If you guys bicker so much maybe you should get married! :-)

Bob April 17, 2009 at 6:19 PM

No thanks Harrison, he's really not my type. Besides I'm already married to a woman who happens to be a Liberal and I'm not gay.

Benjamin J Burr April 18, 2009 at 1:27 AM

Bob says, "Democrats have always tried to help the people like the middle class and the poor. The only people Republicans help are the rich."

I would have to agree that the Democrats try to help people like the middle class and the poor to pander to them to get votes. Of course, trying and succeeding are two completely different things, or has Homer Simpson once said, "Trying is the first step towards failure."

For example, I used to run a restaurant business. My general manager was a single mother with two kids whose boyfriend had committed suicide. When she first started she was on every government entitlement program you can imagine. We worked together to set performance benchmarks, and as she hit those goals we increased her pay and added benefits. Within two years, we were able to grow the business to where we doubled her salary, enrolled her in private health insurance, and we helped her get a new car.

In 2006 the Democrats took over Congress and raised the minimum wage. This meant I was forced by the government to pay a higher wage to a bunch of high school students who were living at home with wealthy parents. Since the business had finite resources to contribute to labor costs, we had to cut my salary and the manager's salary to stay in business. So although the Democrats tried to help, their efforts failed. I feel like I was doing a good enough job using my private business to help those who needed it. I didn't need Nancy Pelosi to come tell me how much I needed to pay my employees.

The only person who can really help you improve your situation is yourself. If you are unwilling to accept this truth, then it doesn't matter which lies you choose to believe in.

On another note, using the written word to express yourself while bemoaning trivialities like punctuation and spelling is like saying it would be o.k. for Barack Obama to sit there and pick his nose during his inaugural address.

Bob April 18, 2009 at 9:25 AM

Benjamin J. Burr- Your comment is bordering on to long but I'll accepted anyway. You say the Democrats pander the middle class and poor for votes. What do you think the Republicans do? They not only pander votes from the rich, they also pander votes from Christians, gun rights advocates, and many other other special interests. The minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.If your business can't afford to pay your employees that small amount in wages, then your business is not viable. Maybe you should try improving your sales instead of complaining about paying $7.25 an hour. The notion that the only person that can really help you is yourself is true in part. But expecting an entire population to all be able to help themselves without any assistance is really unrealistic, and go ahead and bemoan my punctuation and spelling and see if it helps get your counter argument across.

Fox is one news network out of how many?

Bob April 22, 2009 at 7:36 PM

Tina-Fox news is one of many news networks. I do believe they are all owned by the right wing,(correct me if I'm wrong). I do know that Fox news is the only one that gives one sided political views tilted to the advantage of the right wing without allowing opposing points of view and they leave out important facts to the right wings advantage.
